Speaking with the media on Wednesday, Wise expressed his willingness to return to the Patriots for 2025 and beyond.
“I would love to return,” Wise said. “I love it here. I love the Patriots, the Nation, all of that. If everything works out to where I’m back, I’ll enjoy it. And, if not, it was a wonderful time here.”
New England selected Wise in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL draft out of Arkansas and since then, he’s appeared in 125 games, recorded 311 tackles (34 for a loss), 90 quarterback hits, 34 sacks, 12 passes defensed and five forced fumbles. He’s won a Super Bowl with the club and developed into a leader.
The Patriots will need to make tough choices this offseason with the goal of improving their roster, and moving on from Wise and upgrading on the edge may be one.
